 Every year, Cardinal Health Pharmacy Management recognizes their employees that exceed expectations. At the Pharmacy Management Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, awards were given for all aspects of pharmacy management including the Rural and Community Hospital Award which recognizes a pharmacy manager practicing in a rural or community hospital setting that has improved the overall pharmacy performance for customers.
Congratulations to the 2008 award winner Sondra Donald, BCH Pharmacy Director. Sondra is a Cardinal Health (CH) employee; BCH contracts with CH for pharmacy management services. Sondra is a dedicated manager and strong supporter of BCH. With Sondra’s direction, the BCH Pharmacy is one of the first sites to hold an Operational Excellence Kaizen Event, a two-day medication administration meeting. “Improving healthcare processes is a duty we have as managers,” she says. “To think we are one of the first community hospitals to use a proven method such as LEAN in healthcare to formulate a plan for improving medication processes is a step in the right direction.”
