Home Care Services of Boone County Hospital offers a Congregate Meal Program to anyone over the age of 60 who would like a hot, nutritious lunch along with some good company.
Seniors can look forward to a delicious meal that is one-third of the daily-recommended federal guidelines for those over 60 years of age. Congregate meals are served during the noon hour Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. These meals are served in Boone at the Senior Citizens Center located at 1112 Story Street at 11:30 a.m. and in Madrid at the Cedars of Madrid Home located at 600 N. Kennedy Avenue at noon.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling the site one-day prior to attendance. Seniors who do not drive may make arrangements through Boone County Transporation at 432-5038 (Boone) or 795-3007 (Madrid). There is a suggested donation of $2.50 per meal to help pay for the portion of the meal cost.
This is a great way to meet new people and enjoy a nutritious meal. If you would like more information about the Congregate Meal Program, please call Home Care Services at 432-1127.
