Boone County Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Unger, D.O., General Surgery, and Tracey McIntire, D.O., Obstetrics/Gynecology, to the Boone County Hospital Medical Staff.
Dr. Unger is a familiar face to Boone County Hospital. Most recently, he worked with Mid Iowa Surgery. On May 1st, he began practicing full time at the hospital. Dr. Unger received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Missouri. He completed an Internship from Metropolitan Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, and a Residency from Deaconess Hospital West, St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Unger is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. His specialities include: gallbladders, hernias, colonoscopies, evaluation for reflux, hysterectomies, biopsies, hemorrhoids, tubal ligations, c-sections and breast masses.
On September 1st, Tracey McIntire, D.O., will begin her obstetrics and gynecology practice at Boone County Hospital. She comes to Boone from Illinois. Dr. McIntire received her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine-Midwestern University, Downer’s Grove, Illinois, and completed an Obstetrics/Gynecology Internship and Residency at Midwestern University, Olympia Fields, Illinois. She is Board Eligible in Obstetrics/ Gynecology. Her specialties include obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health issues. In addition to Dr. McIntire, epidural services will also be available September 1st for mothers during the birthing process.
In addition to Dr. McIntire, Boone County Hospital has six Family Practice physicians on staff who offer obstetrics & gynecology services as a part of their practice. They are: Brian Mehlhaus, M.D., Sascha Parsons, M.D., Eric Peterson, M.D., Jerald Phipps, D.O., Trisha Sams, M.D., and Paul Volker, M.D.
